Facebook Asks Court To Uphold Settlement Over Message Scans

The privacy lawsuit alleged that Facebook violated the federal wiretap law by intercepting users' messages and scanning them. The company reportedly did so in order to determine whether people were sending their friends links to outside sites.

On Wednesday, Donald Trump ended the midterms news cycle by effectively firing Attorney General Jeff Sessions . The acting Attorney General is now Matt Whitaker, Sessions' former chief of staff and a man who used to mooch WiFi from a taco restaurant.
